Learning together through Life, Love and Laughter...
The 4 Kids and Whanau childcare centre is open from 7:30am to 5:30pm providing a friendly, safe environment for children 3 months until school age. We believe our role goes far beyond caring for and nurturing children, we endeavour to help children reach their fullest potential while in our centre. We aspire to empower children by encouraging independence, confidence and a love of learning through play. Our centre is divided into 2 separate rooms; Pipi & Paua.
Pipi Whanau (3 months - 2½ years)
Our Pipi Whanau caters for 12 babies from 3 months until 2½ years. Our Pipi team are passionate about infants and toddlers and approach the children’s care and education with incredible respect.
ERO recently wrote the following about our Pipi Whanau in our April 2015 review:
“The programme provided for infants and toddlers in the Pipi area is a special feature of the centre. These children are very well supported to make choices about their learning. They have good access to outdoor spaces. Infants appear happy and settled. They experience individualised routines that respect their preferences. Toddlers have opportunities to challenge their physical skills and make their own discoveries. Teachers use te reo Maori in meaningful ways throughout the day.”
Paua Whanau (2½ years - 5 years)
Our Paua Whanau caters for 35 children from 2½ years until school age (5-6 years old). Our Paua team, are passionate about seeing the children they work with develop and learn to their fullest potential.
ERO recently wrote the following about our Paua Whanau in our April 2015 review:
“Older children in the Paua area also experience a high quality programme. They confidently share their knowledge and ideas with teachers and other children. Children successfully manage their relationships and interactions with others. Flexible routines support their sustained participation in co-operative, imaginative play. Creative and thoughtfully presented indoor and outdoor areas prompt children’s exploration and investigation. In this environment, children are articulate and well supported to become confident, competent learners.”
